CFC is been blessed to have had Bruce Gruver and his family as members over the past several years. He served as both pianist and preacher as he was needed. He was chosen by Leadership and the Congregation to assume the office of Part-Time Pastor after the death of our previous and founding pastor, Bill Caffey, in June 2015. When he retired from his full-time job, Leadership and the Congregation chose him to serve as Full-Time Pastor of Cornerstone Family Church, beginning December 1, 2016. Bruce and his wife Deana have served five churches in Texas and Michigan since 1982.
He brings to CFC not only a wealth of experience as a pastor, but also a treasure house of knowledge, talent, and experience in the realm of music. He continues to use his amazing musical abilities to direct and accompany the Praise Team for Sunday morning worship and Sunday evening Hymn Sing.
Pastor Bruce was born Colman, TX, but grew up in Houston. After receiving his BS in Education from Stephen F. Austin University, he then earned a M.ED from Texas State University. As a professional keyboard player, he added to his diverse experience by travelling with a gospel singing group out of Sedalia, MO, and by teaching in public schools, vocational college, and university venues. He and his wonderful wife Deana reside in Garland, TX, and enjoy loving relationships with their four adult children.
